Handmade Teddy Bears
Hello.
Let me introduce Alison Purvis who lives in the
costal town of
South Shields
on the North East coast
of
England .
About six years
ago she wanted to find a new hobby apart from her sewing obsession.
However an interesting turn in her career happened the day she had a
look in her local library for some ideas. She came across a book on
how to make teddy bears and was impressed with the imagination of
artists who created wonderful, lifelike one of a kind bears almost
impossible to forget. She knew what she had to do. No surprise that
she started to think about making her own bears.
She then attended a teddy bear fair and was fascinated by the
collectors bears made from mohair. She invested in a kit with pattern,
joints and mohair.
Her first bear was made from a synthetic fur and was not a bad
attempt (although not fantastic!! )
Alison mastered the techniques of making high quality bears
for collectors adding her own talent and vision, and voila … a
wonder happened. Alison's bears look at you with almost human
expressions on their faces. Each has its own character and its own
temperament.
Thanks to Alison's unique talent and personality, we now present
a new family of bears in the rich and colourful world of teddy bears.
I was proud to meet Alison at one of the many exclusive
craft fairs with her "babies".
Through this presentation we are now able to welcome Alison to the wonderful
world community of teddy bear collectors.
Today Alison is a
well established successful artist with many outstanding bears
Her mailing list
grows every day, so does the popularity of her bears.
If you buy an item from this site, please remember that collector
bears are not toys. Care and delicate handling are required when
collecting these unique beings. You can find more information about
caring for collector teddy bears elsewhere on the internet.
All bears are one of a kind and made with the greatest care and
quality specially for you as a serious collector.
I hope you will enjoy Alison's bears for many years to come.
